Therefore, KonanLink does not save the user’s files or mails in KonanLink server. In other words, the user’s files or mails are stored in the user’s device, index files are saved in the user’s computer, and the search engine is in the user’s PC or Mac, which reassures that there is no issue of file leakage or exposure.

[Notification] Extended Support of Outlook Mail Search

Previously, KonanLink users could only search Outlook inbox folders and attachment files, but from now on, users can search Outlook inbox folder, as well as sent folder and other customized local folders. Of course, attachment files can be searched within 1 second, as well.

Moreover, instead of updating index files for Outlook mail search at 1AM everyday, KonanLink now frequently updates index files so that users may search sent or received emails immediately.

[공지] 아웃룩 메일 검색 지원 확대

지금까지 사용자는 코난링크에서 아웃룩의 받은편지함에 있는 메일과 첨부파일만을 검색할 수 있었지만, 이제 아웃룩의 받은편지함에 있는 메일은 물론 보낸편지함과 사용자가 만든 로컬 폴더에 보관된 메일도 검색할 수 있습니다. 당연히 메일에 첨부된 파일도 1초 안에 검색할 수 있습니다.

또한 아웃룩 메일의 검색을 위한 색인파일을, 매일 새벽에 1차례 업데이트하던 방식에서 수시로 색인파일을 업데이트하는 방식으로 전환하였기 때문에 방금 전에 받거나 보낸 메일도 이제 곧바로 검색할 수 있습니다.

[Notification] Change of web mail support from POP3 to IMAP

In order to search users' web mails, KonanLink imports users' web mails from registered web mail server, and creates and manages index files. The emails will now be imported via IMAP method, instead of the previous POP3 method.

If you do not set web mail POP3 settings to "Keep a copy of your email on the server", then the email itself may not be stored in the web mail server. In this case, even if you want to view the email searched via KonanLink, since the email has already been deleted from the web mail server, it may not be opened.

Therefore, in order to prevent such potential problem, KonanLink has changed web mail importing method from POP3 to IMAP.

Please note that depending on the web mail service, some may limit the number of emails supported in IMAP (for example, 1,000 ~ 10,000 mails), so only a portion of the emails may be indexed and searched.

코난링크는 웹 메일을 검색하기 위해, 사용자가 등록한 웹 메일의 서버에서 사용자의 메일을 불러와서 색인파일을 생성하고 유지합니다. 이때 메일을 불러오는 방식을 기존의 POP3에서 IMAP으로 변경합니다.

POP3는 웹 메일의 POP3 설정을 “원본 저장 또는 원본 보관”으로 하지 않을 경우, 메일 자체가 웹 메일 서버에 보관되지 않을 수 있습니다. 이런 경우 코난링크에서 검색된 메일을 보려고 할 때 해당 메일이 이미 웹 메일 서버에서 삭제되었기 때문에 해당 메일을 볼 수 없는 문제가 발생할 수도 있습니다.

따라서 코난링크는 이런 가능성을 없애기 위해, 웹 메일을 불러 오는 방식을 기존의 POP3에서 IMAP으로 변경했습니다.

한편 웹 메일에 따라서는 IMAP에서 지원하는 메일의 개수를(예를 들어 1,000개 ~ 10,000개) 제한하기도 하기 때문에 웹 메일의 전부가 아닌 일부 메일만 색인되고 검색될 수도 있습니다.
